60fps Mirrored Vision

An experimental film exploring the parallels and differences between human and machine vision. The project investigates pareidolia and apophenia and applies this to artificial intelligence, framing machine vision itself as a calculated system of seeing meaning in noise.

Using image-to-image generation, found imagery displayed at 60fps, object recognition and synthetic vocal sounds, the film explores the boundaries of human perception, blurring it with that of the machine.

During the screening, potato chips engraved with neural network diagrams were served, inspired by chips sold online that look like familiar figures.
